Handling training – Be safe
It is wise to consider changing certain working habits after an injury. Our safe handling training, provided by a professional ergonomist, can help workers use safer work methods, while considering the specific physical condition of the individual, his/her work, and the physical environment (provided equipment, space available, etc.).
The ergonomist begins by learning about the work done by the employee, and his usual work methods. If physically demanding methods are identified, the ergonomist can discuss them with the worker, and suggest different ways to complete the job. After trials, if the new operating way works out, it could progressively be integrated by the worker with practice.
This kind of intervention can be particularly useful for jobs requiring frequent handling, or handling of heavy weights.
Our services are based upon the latest scientific literature of IRSST about handling.
